Di - So 10:00 - 18:00
On the occasion of the Swim City exhibition, which takes place between 27 August and 8 October in MAO and explores the culture of river swimming in various European cities, we will set out on a bicycle trip along the Ljubljanica. We will start at the Fužine Castle, ride by the newly landscaped Muste Family Park and then follow the embankments and bridges of the Ljubljanica all the way to the Špica Park. Between 2007 and today, the City of Ljubljana has built or renovated thirteen bridges over the Ljubljanica and thus created new social public spaces above the river. We'll take a look at how city rivers are becoming part of our everyday lives and whether the Swiss example of urban swimming culture is possible in Ljubljana, too.
Your tour guide will be Rok Žnidaršič, multiple Plečnik Award recipient and one of the collaborators on Ljubljanica embankments renovation project, a recipient of the European Prize for Urban Public Space.
The tour will be held in Slovenian. Translation for foreign-language speakers will be provided.
Start: at 17.00 hours in front of the Museum of Architecture and Design
